... are a group of non-toxic, organic substances found naturally occurring in many fruits and foods such as sugar cane (glycolic), milk (lactic), grapes (tartaric), apples (malic), and citrus fruits (citric).

Glycolic acid found in sugar cane, has the smallest molecular size of all the alpha hydroxyl acids. Therefore, it is believed to penetrate the skin more easily than the other AHA’s. Thus glycolic acid provided the greatest benefits to the skin when compared with other cosmetically used alpha hydroxyl acids.

Glycolic acid helps to gently slough, or exfoliate, the dead cell layer which manifests fine lines and uneven skin tones. When the dead cell layers are removed, newer fresher skin is revealed.
